Have you ever noticed feeling more at peace when near water?

The allure of the ocean is universal. And the feeling of relaxation and rejuvenation it offers is real – supported by years of scientific studies, spiritual beliefs, and lived experiences.

Just like the waves that shape the shoreline, the ocean has the power to reshape your life.

By embracing its ebbs and flows, you’ll discover boundless connections and a renewed sense of fulfillment in your professional career and personal life.

If you find conventional therapy practices restrictive, you’re not alone – these OHTP students did too

  • "This program inspired me to start my own business and gave me the courage to believe in myself."

I hold the truth that ‘nature heals’’ dear to my heart, but it was hard to explain exactly what was taking place. In OHTP, we learned to create sessions with blue mind practices, meditations, and healing modalities. The structure made it easy for me to understand and integrate, while guidance from Sophie and her team helped me become more aligned with my gifts and offerings.

    - Lauralee, entrepreneur

  • "As a therapist deeply connected to the healing power of the ocean, understanding the science behind this phenomenon equipped me with the knowledge to incorporate it into my practice"

OHTP deepened my appreciation of the ocean and gave me the scientific insights necessary to harness its therapeutic potential. I am grateful for this eye-opening experience that will undoubtedly enhance my ability to guide others on their healing journeys.

    – Air, therapist

  • " OHTP profoundly impacted my life by encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone."

It inspired me to be more visible and to develop and showcase my unique gifts. This shift in perspective has been instrumental in expanding my horizons both personally and professionally.

Meet Sophie
your guide to ocean therapy

Why trust me with your journey into ocean healing?

I’ve lived the transformation I teach to clients and other professionals.

My path to ocean therapy began when I experienced professional burnout as a licensed clinical social worker. The typical clinical setting no longer seemed as effective for my clients or myself.

That’s when I turned to the ocean.

A woman walking into the ocean waves wearing a wetsuit at sunset

Initially, the ocean was my personal refuge. But I soon realized its therapeutic potential for others on their healing journey and practitioners seeking a more fulfilling business model.

OHTP is born from what I've learned about therapy, blue mind, and business leadership throughout my career.

With a Master's in Clinical Social Work from USC, a LEAD Certificate from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and my hands-on experience founding Waves of Recovery, I’ve created a program to help you build a sustainable business that harnesses the ocean’s power.

FAQs

  • The next OHTP session starts in June 2026 and ends in September 2026. All training calls, office hours, and masterclasses will be taught on Zoom.

  • OHTP isn’t your typical online program where you can set aside one weekend to watch all the videos. We ask for commitment from all students so we can build a supportive community and so you can get the most out of the program! Plan to spend 5 hours per week on live calls, masterclasses, coursework, and ocean-related exercises.

Additionally, all students will complete 20 hours of hands-on observing, attending, and holding ocean healing sessions. You’ll receive scripts and guidance to help you facilitate these sessions.

  • We strongly recommend you attend all the live training sessions and master classes – these are amazing opportunities to learn from experts. Office hours are optional calls for asking questions or receiving feedback from Sophie. But if you do miss a session, all calls will be recorded and available in your course portal.

  • No! The only requirements for OHTP are a personal connection with the ocean, a willingness to deepen that connection, and the desire to help others. This program will teach you ocean healing practices for personal or professional use and how to start (or elevate) your wellness business.

  • Absolutely! This one-of-a-kind training provides unique and expert insights into ocean therapy and includes a strong business component to help you expand your practice even further.

  • Yes! All calls and coursework in OHTP will be completed online so you can access the program from anywhere. We also know not everyone can live next to the ocean which is why we teach you how to integrate ocean work into healing practices, no matter where you live.

  • Yes! Sophie offers private coaching sessions at additional costs, including one-on-one coaching, daily support, and live coaching. Space is limited, so reach out ahead of time to secure your spot.

  • As a certified ocean healer, you’ll gain the skills to create safe and transformative spaces for individuals and groups to harness the healing power of the ocean. You’ll also learn to integrate blue mind theory into your rituals, community practices, and business strategies for greater well-being.
